1st EuroSOMT Functional Urology Training Course

Perugia, Sangallo Palace Hotel
July 17-18, 2026
Meeting Chair: Elisabetta Costantini
This program provides an updated and integrated overview of functional urology, combining evidence-based guidelines with emerging therapies and surgical innovation. It addresses the full spectrum of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) in both male and female patients, including non-neurogenic and neurogenic conditions, with a focus on urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and chronic pelvic pain, emphasizing personalized and multidisciplinary care.
Dedicated sessions also explore pelvic organ prolapse, highlighting current concepts, surgical strategies, and the role of robotic reconstruction within a collaborative urological and gynecological perspective.
Key topics include neuromodulation, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, novel pharmacological treatments, and infection prevention strategies beyond antibiotics. Video surgery, re-live procedures, and hands-on simulation enhance the translation of evidence into clinical practice.
The integration of artificial intelligence and advanced urodynamics further supports improved diagnostic accuracy and treatment selection. Overall, the program aims to strengthen clinical decision-making and promote innovative, patient-centered management in functional urology.
