Rationale
Dear Colleagues and Friends, It is my great pleasure to invite you once again to join us for the 3rd edition of the EUGA Urogynecology Masterclass, “From Delivery to Reconstruction: Expert Strategies for Pelvic Floor Complication Management.” After the remarkable success of the first two Masterclasses, dedicated respectively to the pathology of the central and anterior genitourinary segment, and then to the apical and posterior vaginal compartments, urinary incontinence, and the diagnosis and treatment of vesical and rectal fistulas and 4th-degree obstetric lacerations, we are ready to continue this shared educational journey. This edition will build on that solid foundation, offering a focused and practical exploration of pelvic floor complication management from childbirth trauma to complex reconstructive strategies. Our Masterclass format—concise sessions dedicated to carefully selected topics along the pelvic surgeon’s training pathway—remains unchanged, ensuring a concentrated and high-value learning experience for both seasoned specialists and colleagues who are still consolidating their surgical expertise. Together, we will revisit key anatomical principles and examine how these underpin thoughtful and effective reconstructive decision-making. We will discuss complications arising from our surgical choices—whether fascial or prosthetic—and explore best practices for prevention, management, and repair. I am confident that this 3rd edition will once again bring strong engagement, insightful discussions, and meaningful professional growth for all participants. A warm welcome to each of you, and my best wishes for an inspiring and productive Masterclass.
