Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Amidst these difficult times, I would like, as the President, to announce The Seventh MIPS Annual meeting that will be held at the same venue Athens, Greece in 2021. The historical city of Athens, Greece: is one of the world's oldest metropolis and the cradle of Western civilization that is central to economic, scientific, maritime, political and cultural history of the Mediterranean region. You all know already that because of the current global Covid 19 pandemic, the MIPS Executive Board and the meeting Chairs decided to postpone the Seventh MIPS Annual Meeting of 2020. I am pleased to inform you that it was finally decided to hold The Seventh MIPS Annual meeting on 24-26 June, 2021 in the Athens Crown Plaza Hotel located in the city centre within an easy reach to the Acropolis/Parthenon and Syntagma square. The scientific theme will be the same: “Towards an evidence-based clinical practice of pelvic floor dysfunctions in the Mediterranean region”.
Congratulations to our Host Chairs: Drs, Themistoklis Grigoriadis and Charalampos Konstantinidis, who kindly agreed to take the responsibility for a second time and will most certainly organize an excellent meeting to build on the outstanding successes of the previous six annual MIPS meetings. The scientific programme will be almost similar to the published programme for 2020 but updated with the most recent advances and will include multi-disciplinary sessions that are tailored to health care provider’s educational needs and training priorities as well as patient care in the Mediterranean countries for both male and female pelvic floor disorders. There will be three free communication sessions with two awards for the best basic science and clinical presentations. The winners will receive free MIPS annual subscription for 2021 as well as free registration for MIPS 2022. I advise our young colleagues, whether fellows or residents, to use this opportunity, to share their research findings with Mediterranean colleagues.
We would like to cordially invite you to attend our seventh annual meeting in 2021 to further the scientific interaction and friendship between health care providers working in the Mediterranean region with a consequent positive impact on incontinence care and service delivery to our patients. Your participation in the Business Annual General Meeting of Members is very important to us because we want to listen to your views and ideas and maintain our personal interaction with all of our members.
Themos, Charalampous, Natalia Trotta our Executive Director, and I are very much looking forward to welcome you in Athens in June, 2021.
Diaa Rizk, MIPS President
